Description

You were once a member of a different community that you’re no longer part of. Unlike members of collectives who are allied by familiarity, shared location, history, and culture, reborne are individuals who might never meet and are unified only by their shared experience of solitude. Whether they left by choice or were ripped from their community, all reborne are disconnected from the place where they once belonged, and they carry that wound with them.

Some reborne are isolated from their community because they chose to reject or renounce it, or they could have been forcibly expelled by other members. These instances are often due to a conflict, such as clashing ideological differences, a falling out with their people, or an incident that forced them to depart. Other reborne have no knowledge of their culture, either due to their upbringing or perhaps because they lost their memory through injury or magic. Some have even returned from beyond the veil after death with no recollection of their previous life—or the culture that shaped it.

Often, reborne individuals tirelessly search for their past or feel that they’ll never belong in a collective, but all are afforded the opportunity to turn toward the future and redefine themselves while building new bonds with those they come to know and love.

Reborne are often curious, hopeful, innocent, isolated, mournful, and uncanny.
